2019: The claim from Philips Healthcare
At the end of April, 2019 the American division of Philips Medical Systems which is introduced into Philips Healthcare accused the former engineer, José Buan, of theft of commercial secrets about x-ray tubes. In the claim it is mentioned that Buan transferred the stolen information to the competitor and tried to destroy proofs.
Buan worked as the development engineer since 1997, including in a command of Philips since October, 2001. As the project manager on development of x-ray tubes of CTR2150, Buan had easy access to a huge array of confidential documentation of Philips concerning all aspects of the XX Ray Tube 2XXX project, including design, design, technical characteristics, the production technology, the system of quality check and improvement of processes.
Buan left Philips at the end of December, 2017, but by this time as it is supposed, copied on the USB flash drive more than 740 files, and that number strictly confidential information on the simulyatsionny models of Philips used for assessment of the size of a focal spot of a x-ray tube. Affirms as the claim that these models contain the classified information on functions and technical characteristics of x-ray tubes which Philips developed for many years.
Buan used a magnet, trying to erase information from the hard drive to hide or destroy proofs of misappropriation of a trade secret. Judicial examination of the Buana computer after its departure allowed to recover a considerable part of data on the hard drive.
In a month Buan joined GL Leading Technologies company as the senior manager on design. Philips claims that GL Leading uses illegally appropriated trade secret of Philips and other confidential business information for development of x-ray tubes. According to experts of Philips, without these data of GL Leading the production would not manage to be prormoted so quickly in development.[1]
