2023: Arrest on charges of embezzlement of 9 billion rubles

On December 14, 2023, it became known about the absentee arrest of Anatoly Kalinichenko, former vice president of the Financial and Industrial Bank (Finprombank, FPB). He is accused of embezzling 9 billion rubles from a credit institution.

According to Kommersant, the involvement of Anatoly Kalinichenko in the embezzlement, as the investigator explained to the court, is confirmed by the collection of evidence collected during the investigation, including the testimony of witnesses and a representative of the FPB recognized as the victim, as well as seized documents, material evidence and other materials of the criminal case.

The materials collected for the banker, according to the representative of the state investigation department, "give sufficient reason to believe," Kalinichenko, being at large and hiding from the preliminary investigation authorities, can impede the ongoing investigation "by conspiracy with other accomplices," as well as agree with them false versions of events "to avoid criminal liability" and hide "funds obtained by criminal means" and other values.

Anatoly Kalinichenko became the third former top manager of the FPB in the case of embezzlement of 9 billion rubles from a financial organization. Correspondence charges were also brought against two co-owners of Finprombank - Stanislav Perminov and Anatoly Goncharov. All three men are wanted.

According to investigators, in late 2015 - early 2016. on behalf of the bank, transactions were concluded that were not planned to be executed because they were a screen for withdrawing money. Initially, the case involved an amount of 5.6 billion rubles, until February 2023, the investigation, according to the newspaper, was conducted against unidentified persons and was practically frozen.[1]
