Education

Kieran Murphy left University college of Dublin and received the bachelor's degree in 1984. Then he got an education at the Manchester university (University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology).

Career

Kieran Murphy devoted more than 20 years to work on biotechnologies and medicobiological sciences. He took the leading positions in such companies as Johnson & Johnson, Mallinckrodt and GE Healthcare. He headed the last in June, 2017.

2008: The beginning of work in GE Healthcare

In 2008 Kieran Murphy passed into GE Healthcare from the Whatman company specializing in creation of filters, membranes and microbiology accessories which allow to conduct qualitative laboratory researches. Afterwards Whatman became a part of GE Healthcare.

2011: Appointment of GE Healthcare Life Sciences as the head

In September, 2017 Kieran Murphy became the president of division of GE Healthcare Life Sciences creating tools in the field of biotechnologies and scientific research. Under the leadership of Murphy revenue of structure exceeded $17 billion in 2015 that was promoted in many respects by business in the field of molecular medicine which at that time brought to the company more than $4 billion income.

2017: Appointment of GE Healthcare as the head

In June, 2017 Kieran Murphy was appointed the CEO and the president of GE Healthcare company instead of John Flannery who was raised to the head of General Electric (GE) concern.
