Biography
Sergey Kobylash was born on April 1, 1965 in Odessa. His military career began at the Yeisk Higher Military Aviation School of Pilots named after V. Komarov, which he graduated in 1987. Later he was educated at the Air Force Academy. Yu. Gagarin and the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
2024: Appointment to the post of Commander of the Air Force
In July 2024, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced personnel changes in the leadership of the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of the country. Lieutenant General Sergei Kobylash was appointed commander of the Air Force and deputy commander-in-chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
According to Interfax, information about new appointments appeared on the official website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Lieutenant General Kobylash, who previously headed the Long-Range Aviation, will now lead all the country's Air Force, while being the deputy commander-in-chief of the Aerospace Forces.[1]
