2022: Sentenced to 7 years in prison for bribes

At the end of June 2022, the Voroshilovsky court of Volgograd sentenced the ex-head of the logistics department of the Volgograd Region Health Committee Svetlana Kolesnikov to seven years in prison in a general regime correctional colony. She was found guilty under paragraph "c" of Part 5 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on a large scale for connivance in service in favor of a bribe giver).

The court found that in the period from June 2015 to December 2020, an employee of the Volgograd Region Health Committee received a monetary reward from the head physician of the Volga Children's Hospital Yevgeny Dergachev for connivance in the service. To give the bribes legality, the head of the medical institution fictitiously granted the official the position of economist, and then she received the salary of a cleaner. During the "work" the woman earned about 800 thousand rubles.

Yevgeny Dergachev himself was previously convicted by the Volga City Court. The former chief physician fully admitted his guilt and even compensated for the damage, the court sentenced him to 1.6 years in a general regime colony. Investigators believed that the specialist from 2016 to 2021 fictitiously employed 11 people in the city hospital for various positions and appropriated a salary received for them in the amount of at least 4 million rubles.

In addition to 7 years in prison, the punishment for Svetlana Kolesnikova includes the fact that for 3 years she is prohibited from holding positions in the state and municipal service related to the implementation of organizational, administrative and administrative powers, as well as the performance of the function of a representative of the authorities. 52-year-old Svetlana Kolesnikova was taken into custody in the courtroom. The ex-official did not admit her guilt.[1]
