Biography

Leon Panetta was born on June 28, 1938, Monterrey, the USA. Graduated from the university of Santa Clara (California) (1960, the bachelor of political science of Magna cum laude). After the termination in the same place of law school in 1963 received degree of the doctor of law.

In 1969 — 1970 was the chief of the department on protection of the civil rights at the Ministry of Health, education and social security of the USA.

In 1970 — 1971 worked as the assistant to the mayor of New York.

From 1977 to 1993 Panetta represented the 16th District of California in the lower house of the U. S. Congress.

Held a position of the chief of staff of the White House and the head of administrative and budget management at the president Bill Clinton.

Headed CIA from 2009 to 2011. Worked in administration of U.S. President of Barack Obama as the Minister of Defence in 2011-2013.

For 2015 Leon Panetta and his wife Silvia are founders and heads of own institute of public policy (Panetta Institute for Public Policy) at the University of California.

In January, 2015 the Board of Directors of Oracle company expanded the number of participants to 12, having elected the new member — to them there was the former United States Secretary of Defense, in the past the director of CIA Leon Panetta,^[1] reports]. All board members of Oracle are elected for one year.
