Luis Maroto is a citizen of Spain, graduated from law department of the Complutense University (Madrid), received MBA degree in IESE Business School and further improved skills in Harvard Business School and Stanford.

Before transition to Amadeus Luís took the leading positions in Bertelsmann Group.

Luís joined Amadeus in 1999, having headed department of marketing finance. On this position it provided support of a business activity of the company in the course of the international expansion and consolidation, exercising strategic and financial control over more than 50 Amadeus subsidiary companies worldwide.

In 2003 Mr. Maroto was appointed to the position of the chief financial officer (CFO) and began to be responsible for the global financial strategy of Amadeus.

During the period from January, 2009 to December, 2010 Luís took a position of the Deputy CEO, being responsible for the strategy of the company in the field of finance, internal audit, legal support and personnel management.

The plan of transfer of Mr. Maroto for a position of the CEO was initially unveiled in January, 2010. In a subsequent period Luís closely worked with David and executive company management for ensuring effective transfer of affairs.

In 2009-2010 as the deputy the CEO Mr. Maroto played a key role in return of the company to stock exchange with a successful exit to the IPO in April, 2010 and the subsequent inclusion in the Spanish index of "blue chips" an IBEX - 35 for the first time in the history of the company.

Since January 01, 2011 Luis Maroto is appointed to a position of the president and CEO of Amadeus company. The CEO who was earlier holding a position of the deputy, mister Maroto released David V. Jones from this duty (David V. Jones).
