Biography

Michael Lynch-Bell graduated from the University of Sheffield with a bachelor's degree in economics and accounting in 1974.

He qualified as a certified accountant in England in 1977.

In 2006, he was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of Humanities at Schiller International University.

From 1974 to 2012, he worked as a member of the expert group, a senior partner at Ernst & Young. During this period, he was a curator and member of project groups for the audit of several transnational groups, advised a wide range of companies on control systems and mechanisms, corporate governance, risk management and accounting. In 1997, he joined the Ernst & Young Expert Group on Consulting Transactions, where he formed and headed the areas of IPO in the UK market and on international transactions in the natural resources sector. He has been working with companies from the CIS countries since 1991, advising a number of companies in the CIS markets on capital attraction, reorganization, organization of transactions, corporate governance and IPO.

Positions held:

• Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director of KazMinerals Plc,
• senior independent director of the company and chairman of the audit committee of Gem Diamonds Limited,
• Chairman of the Board of Seven Energy Ltd
• independent non-executive director of Barloworld Limited.

Participates in the 21st Century Legacy charity.

In 2013, he was appointed as a non-executive director on the Board of Directors of Lenta Ltd. Participates in the committees of the Board of Directors:

• Chairman of the Audit Committee,
• Member of the Appointment and Remuneration Committees.

As of May 10, 2018, Michael Lynch-Bell is serving as a non-executive director on the Board of Directors of Lenta Ltd^[1].

2022: Resignation from the post of member of the Board of Directors of Lenta

On March 2, 2022, Lenta announced the resignation of Rood Pedersen, Steve Johnson, Michael Lynch-Bell and Thomas Korganas from the posts of members of the Board of Directors of ICPAO Lenta and other positions in the Group's companies from March 1 and 2, 2022. More details here.
