2025: Detention on suspicion of embezzlement of ₽10 million
The former bankruptcy manager of the bankrupt ANO "Clinic of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery NIITO" Maria Emelyanova was detained on suspicion of embezzlement of ₽10 million. The detention took place at the end of May 2025.
According to Kommersant, the criminal case was initiated under Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of Russia - misappropriation or embezzlement on an especially large scale. The maximum punishment under this article is 10 years in prison. The case is in the proceedings of the 2nd department for the investigation of especially important cases of the Novosibirsk department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
ANO "Clinic NIITO" is fully owned by the Federal State Budgetary Institution "NNIITO named after Y. L. Tsivyan" of the Ministry of Health of Russia. The autonomous non-profit organization was declared bankrupt in May 2023. The bankruptcy procedure was managed by Maria Emelyanova.
Among the main creditors of the bankrupt clinic was called LogisticMed LLC with a debt of ₽24,9 million under the supply agreement of August 1, 2012. LLC Tehinkom"" presented claims for ₽33,3 million under the lease agreement for non-residential premises dated September 1, 2017. Medical Integrator LLC announced a debt of ₽20,3 million under the equipment purchase and sale agreement of October 18, 2017.
The NIITO Clinic of Traumatology, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery was a multidisciplinary medical institution. The main building of the clinic was located in the center of Novosibirsk. More than 320 thousand patients were treated annually in a medical institution.
In the summer of 2024, the founder of the NIITO Clinic spoke in favor of stopping its activities. The decision was related to the accumulated financial problems of the organization. The clinic worked in the field of traumatology, orthopedics and neurosurgery, providing specialized medical care to residents of Novosibirsk and the region.[1]
