Mark Templeton holds a position of the president and CEO of the company Citrix Systems, Inc. which is the world leader in the development area of solutions for virtualization, creation of computer networks and the organization of cloud computing.
Mark Templeton is responsible for development and strategy implementation of the company, product and market policy, a customer support. He defines the mission of Citrix — to create more effective solutions for end users, IT specialists and the enterprises in the field of virtual conferences, desktops and DPC — and creates unique corporate culture on the basis of such values as respect, honesty, innovations and simplicity.
Biography
Mark Templeton received the bachelor's degree in the State University of North Carolina in "Industrial design" and MBA degree at Darden school of the university of Virginia.
In 1995 Mark Templeton joined the Citrix command, to an exit of the company to the IPO, as the marketing vice president.
In 1998 he was appointed the president of the company, and in 2001 — the CEO. Under its management the Citrix company from the small organization with the capital in 15 million US dollars proposing only one solution in the market and covering only one segment of audience turned into the influential leader with income about 2 billion US dollars.
He takes active part in activity of many communities and charitable organizations and also is the board member of Equifax (NYSE: EFX).
In the middle of June, 2011 Mark is going to visit Moscow.
2015: Mark Templeton's resignation
On July 28, 2015 it became known of Mark Templeton's leaving from a post of the president and the CEO of Citrix. The name of his successor is still unknown.
As it appears from the message of Citrix, Mark Templeton will stay in the head of the company until to it do not find replacement. The Board of Directors already began search of the new CEO and for this purpose asked for the help in Heidrick & Struggles recruitment agency.[1]
About what candidates are considered on Citrix post of the head, it is not reported. Even approximate terms of resignation of Mark Templeton are also unknown.
"I will continue to be focused on the management of Citrix and implementation of fruitful changes in the company until we are ready to make soft junction to the new management — Templeton says. — I have a complete confidence that the Board of Directors will be able to find the good candidate who will lead Citrix".
The leading independent director of Citrix Thomas Bogan called Mark Templeton "giant of the industry of the software" which in 20 years of the management of the company turned it into the world technology leader with turnover in $3 billion.
"We are glad to continue work with Mark on the strategy implementation put on the future. At the same time we are engaged in search of the best successor" — Bogan who in day of the announcement of resignation of Templeton gave way the executive chairman of the board of Citrix Robert Calderoni told.
During the conference with analysts Mark Templeton noted that the decision on resignation was made before the Elliott Management hedzh-fund began to recommend to the company to be engaged in business transformation. In particular, the investor insisted on need to sell a part of business or to separate some divisions, to make share repurchase of stocks and also to take measures for cost reduction and change of model of sales.
