Biography

In 1986 he graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of Leningrad State University.

He worked as a mathematician-programmer at the Central Research Institute of Morphizpribor, in the early 1990s he became one of the organizers of AOZT Ajax, was its vice president.

Maxim Sorokin has worked for OCS Distribution since its founding in 1994. On his initiative, OCS began to develop according to the model of a wide-profile distributor.

Over the 20 years of his leadership, OCS Distribution from a small regional company in St. Petersburg has grown to a large distributor with offices in 30 cities of Russia and 2 cities in Kazakhstan.

2015: Resigning as President of OCS Distribution

On February 3, 2015, OCS Distribution reported that Maxim Sorokin had left the presidency. The company explained that Maxim Sorokin made this decision more than a year ago. It took almost a year to work out the details and prepare the team for this step.

One of the main reasons for leaving the operational management of the company, Maxim Sorokin called "awareness of the need for a new young power in management, as well as a decrease in his own drive, much needed by the leader of such a large-scale and dynamic company as OCS Distribution."

At the same time, Sorokin did not leave the company at all, but only transferred the operational functionality to the management team. He himself became a member of the board of directors, "transferring experience in the role of an adviser, and taking part in resolving strategic issues," OCS Distribution explained.

Instead of Maxim Sorokin , Aleksei Kalinin was appointed to the post of president, before that he worked in the company as vice president. At the same time, the company will also be managed by a team of top managers (vice presidents who are members of the company's board of directors) OCS Distribution. Their functionality within the management company has expanded in parallel with the appointment of a new president, the company explained to TAdviser.
