Biography

In 1979, Igor Melnikov graduated from the Physics Department of Gomel State University. Candidate of Sciences.

Since 1983 he worked at the Moscow Institute of Petrochemical and Gas Industry named after I.M. Gubkin. One of the participants in the development and industrial implementation of computerized GTI technology in the oil and gas industry.

In 1989, he headed the Educational and Scientific and Technical Center at the State Academy of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin.

Since 1991 - Chairman of the Board of Directors of OJSC Infrared and Microwave Systems, which was engaged in the creation of equipment for geological and technological research, the production of GTI stations.

Within the next years participated in creation of a number of the specialized enterprises in Russia (EAMS-Inform, IMS-Saratov, Yamal-Petroservice, "Perm-IMS-Service", "Petroplast", Petroservice-Geo) and also abroad (Petroservices GmbH Magdeburg and Petroservices Egypt), focused on different types of the equipment and services for fuel and energy complex. On the basis of these enterprises, the company "United Energy Group" Petroservice "was then formed, which Melnikov headed.

Igor Melnikov is also president of the non-profit organization Union for the Support and Development of Domestic Oil and Gas Service Companies (NO Soyuzneftegazservice) and co-founder of the NPO Soyuzneftegazservice, in which he owns a 60% stake.

Member of the Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation on energy strategy and the development of the fuel and energy complex. Head of the working group on geophysics of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

As of April 2021 - Chairman of the Scientific and Technical Council of NPO SNGS LLC.
