2020: Infection of the head of the Ministry of Health of Kuzbass COVID-19

On July 7, 2020, it became known about the detection of COVID-19 coronavirus in Mikhail Malin. This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Kuzbass, which Malin heads.

According to RIA Novosti in the press service of the department, the alleged source of infection was identified in early July 2020, after which part of the ministry's employees went into quarantine. After a few days of isolation, a new coronavirus infection was confirmed by the head and three employees of the department.

It is noted that by July 7, 2020, all employees with COVID-19 are under the supervision of doctors and receive the necessary treatment. A circle of contact persons was also identified, all of them were sent for home isolation.

The minister emphasized that Kuzbass health workers daily face the risk of infection with a new coronavirus infection, work in difficult conditions and are ready to sacrifice themselves to save others. He thanked doctors, nurses and all employees of the regional health authorities for their dedication and high responsibility in the fight against COVID-19.

According to the operational headquarters, by July 6, 2020, 49 cases of infection with coronavirus infection were detected in Kuzbass. A total of 2,134 cases have been identified in the region since the beginning of the epidemic, 953 people have recovered, 12 have died. Regional healthcare has the necessary resources to treat patients with COVID-19, Malin said.[1]
