Biography

Was born on February 15, 1972 in Moscow.

In the eighth class Alexander Mikoyan decided on future profession and was admitted to physical and mathematical school after which termination he went on mekhmat MSU.

In 1994 with honors graduated from the MSU Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of M.V. Lomonosov. Has degree MBA Henley Management College (Great Britain). From the 3rd rate of the mekhmat worked at one of the academic institutes, was engaged at first in applications of artificial intelligence in seismology, then databases and creation at institute of an online resource.

In 1992-1996 – the research associate of the Joint institute of physics of Earth of O.Yu. Schmidt RAHN. In 1996 when with financing of Academy of Sciences it became absolutely bad, young specialists necessarily had to look for work. So comprehension of new science began and A. Mikoyan appeared in representative office of the Canadian company Newbridge Networks Corp. (NNC).

In 1996-1999 worked in representative office of Newbridge Networks Corp. (NNC) "The graduate of the mekhmat headed representation too, and we with it quickly found a common language, – A. Mikoyan^[1] remembers]. – Began with a position of the project manager, then became the customers manager. And in 1999 the chief representative departed from affairs – and it was offered to me to hold this position. Unfortunately, soon because of financial difficulties worldwide the NNC company closed several representations including the Russian. In 2000 the Alcatel company purchased NNC, and I appeared in the new company.

In 2000-2007 – in Alcatel (since 2005 – the CEO of Alcatel in Russia). After merge of Alcatel and Lucent Technologies a part of assets passed the French corporation Thales Group and as in Alcatel I had to be engaged much in space projects, I was appointed the vice president of Thales Group.

In 2007-2009 – the area director on development in Eastern Europe and the corporate director of Russia of Thales Group company. It was very interesting work there: products of this company covered a broad spectrum of technologies – from intended for submarines to the space systems. But, as the company "is ground" on military products, I as the Russian citizen could not expect further promotion any more. And so matched that when I began to think of the future, colleagues from NR suggested me to consider an opportunity for work in this company. And I decided – came to NR to a position of the head of division of technological solutions.

Since January, 2009 – the director of group of technological solutions NR in Russia. Since November, 2009 – the CEO of NR in Russia.

In 2015, after global separation of Hewlett-Packard into two companies — HP Inc. which makes the PC and printers, and HPE which makes the equipment for corporate clients, such as servers, storage systems — Alexander Mikoyan headed HPE in Russia.

In July, 2016 left HPE company Russia. The source of Kommersant close to HPE claimed that Alexander Mikoyan moved to London and directs work of HPE with one of her largest customers — BT Group telecom operator (before British Telecom).

Family

On the maternal line Alexander Mikoyan great-grandson of the large political figure of the 20th century Anastas Mikoyan and grandson of the legendary test pilot Hero of the Soviet Union Stepan Mikoyan; on the fatherly line – the great-grandson of the famous democrat revolutionaries of noble origin Stepan and Lyubov Radchenko and Natalya Baranskaya's grandson – the bright Soviet writer, the literary critic and one of founders of new Pushkin Museum in Moscow. Mother is a philologist and the translator, years works hard at department of English of faculty of philology of MSU; the father – the TV reporter, famous in Soviet period.

He is married, raises two children.

– Do you love Moscow?

It seems to me, today the residence is not so important. I am very far from labels when the person who wants to live in France, consider bad, and the one who on Sivtsev Vrazhek – good. We can and should use the opportunity which is available for us to select to ourselves the residence. Now I look out of the window and I see how many around the smoking pipes, I know what traffic jams wait for me on streets … I was born in other Moscow and today I love it less. Besides at different age at the person different values: in 20 years to it it is important that was where to go in the evening to have a good time, and in 60 just there is a wish to breathe fresh air, to quietly read the book …

– What qualities in people you do not transfer to spirit what, on the contrary, you appreciate?

I do not transfer hypocrisy, grandness, arrogance and still when people lie much. I understand that the person is weak and can tell lies, but, unfortunately, sometimes it becomes a habit … And that in people it is pleasant to me - it is honesty, frankness. I like people who are engaged in self-education which are able to inform of the thought and to listen, even at first – to listen. I love the clever people inclined to the analysis which leads to the certain corrective actions directed both on itself(himself), and on people around.
