Najib Saviris is a senior from three sons of the billionaire of the founder of Orascom Group of Onsi Saviris. In 1997 after the section of group Najib received media and telecommunication assets, the average son Samikh – tourist, and younger Nassef – construction. All four Savirisov are included into the world list of billionaires of Forbes (June, 2011).
At the end of 2010 Nassef had the greatest status – with $5.9 billion he took the 127th place in the Forbes list. Onsi Saviris with $3.1 billion is in the 307th place, Najib is in the 374th place from $2.5 billion. A status has the smallest of Savirisov – with $1.5 billion it borrows the 655th place.
- In June, 2011 Vimpelcom disclosed information on how the Egyptian billionaire Najib Saviris, the Italian Wind Telecom of $1.5 billion which received in exchange for 100% of shares and 30.6% of voting shares of Vimpelcom, was calculated with minority shareholders of the absorbed company. Saviris through the Luxembourg offshore Weather Investments II possessed 63% of stocks (70% taking into account treasury securities) to Wind Telecom. From the received packet in Vimpelcom Saviris transferred 20 million ordinary shares (1% of voting shares is equivalent) to two Luxembourg offshores - TNT Holdings and Dosantos Investment, having paid them also in total $130 million.
TNT Holdings received a share in Wind Telecom from two offshores from the Cayman Islands of Thursday Holdings and SOS Holdings. In 2008 these offshores borrowed Weather Investments II of $80 million and 32 million euros, then the rights on the credits were assigned to TNT Holdings which exchanged them for a share in Wind Telecom. As a result of merge to Vimpelcom the offshore TNT received $125.6 million and 0.8% of voting shares of the united company. According to the Swiss antimonopoly regulator, Thursday Holdings and SOS Holdings belong to the brother Nadzhbia Saviris Samih heading Orascom Development holding (is engaged in construction of tourist objects).
The same way Dosantos Invesments received the shares Wind Telecom from the Luxembourg NNS Holdings. In 2008 this structure borrowed Weather Investmnets II of $20 million, having assigned then the rights on the credit of Dosantos which exchanged them for a share in Wind Telecom. As a result of merge to Vimpelcom the offshore Dosantos received $4.8 million and 0.2% of voting shares of the united company. NNS Holdings is headed by one more of brothers Savirisov – Nassef (Nassef) who is the CEO of construction holding Orascom Construction Industries.
Under the agreement with Vimpelcom Saviris promised within three months from the moment of completion of the transaction (this date it is considered on April 15) not to transfer to anybody the stocks Vimpelcom, however in the agreement the exception for members of his family was made. Vimpelcom said that do not disclose information on the minority shareholders in addition to that that it was already reported.
For payment with other minority shareholders of Wind Telecom Saviris borrowed $1.8 billion for three years, and as creditors largest minority shareholders – groups of Apax Partners Europe Managers, TA Associates and Madison Dearborn Partners funds acted. According to the Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera, Apax 10.8% of the stocks Wind Telecom, TA and Madison - on 5.4% belonged. The CEO of Vimpelcom Alexander Izosimov explained earlier that the monetary component in the transaction with Wind Telecom in the amount of $1.5 billion appeared just in order that Saviris could pay off the minority partners.
On August 15, 2012 the Nagiba Saviris company announced sale of the most part of the packet in Vimpelcom (14.8% of voting shares) of the Russian Altimo for $3.6 one billion.
On September 28, 2012 Telenor sold 71 million preferred shares of Vimpelcom (3.44% of voting shares of holding) for $113.6 million. After that it had 0.04% of ordinary shares which Saviris is going to sell on the exchange in the nearest future.
