2026: Arrest on charges of taking bribes from electronics supplier

At the end of January 2026 FSB Russia , in the city To St. Petersburg Leningrad Region and together with the Military Investigation Department of the Russian Federation SK for the Leningrad Military District, he detained the head of the 178th military mission Ministry of Defence of Captain 2nd Rank Vladimir Nikitin. He is suspected of taking a bribe.

According to the investigation, Nikitin received money from a representative of a commercial organization (the name was not disclosed). In exchange, the captain promised to ensure the unhindered signing of documents for the acceptance of the electronic component base within the framework of the state defense order.

The criminal case was initiated under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking a bribe on an especially large scale). Such acts are punishable by a fine in the amount of 3 million to 5 million rubles or in the amount of the convict's salary or other income for a period of three to five years, or in the amount of 80 to 100 times the amount of a bribe or imprisonment for a period of 8 to 15 years with a fine of up to 70 times the amount of a bribe or without it and with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to 15 years or without it.

The size of the bribe received is not specified. Nikitin was detained, investigative and operational-search measures are being carried out against him.[1]
