2025: Leaving Office

On April 18, 2025, it became known that the head of the IT department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Oleg Berestovoy was leaving his post. He headed this unit for a year and a half.

In a post on the social network Facebook (owned by Meta, which is recognized as an extremist organization; activities on the territory of the Russian Federation are prohibited) Berestovoy says that he leaves the post "voluntarily, on his own initiative, without conflicts with the team." During his work, it is alleged that the IT department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has turned from a "system administrator" into an institute that sets the pace of digital transformation in the army. The division's staff was doubled.

I am completing my service at the Department of Defense. I had the honor of leading teams of hundreds of people who created many important services and tools for the troops, "Berestovoy wrote.

Among the achievements of the IT department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine during the work of Berestovoy are the development and launch of super applications "Army +" (about 800 thousand users) and "Reserve +" (about 4 million users). The Obereg register has been transformed into an interoperable system with automated tools to control mobilization. Verified data sets for decision-making by the military-political leadership have been formed. An ecosystem of SAP ERP solutions has been deployed for accounting and resource management in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The infrastructure of internal data centers has been significantly updated and integration with cloud solutions has been expanded. In addition, the development of the medical information system (MIS), the electronic document management system (EDMS), etc., has begun. The IT management team continues to implement a number of other projects - information about some of them is closed^[1]
