Oleg Fomenko has been appointed director of the unified procurement department of Merlion and Citylink. This was announced on March 31, 2023 by Merlion.

The combined procurement division will improve the efficiency of working with suppliers and vendors by consolidating the competencies of retail and distribution teams.

This purpose and consolidation of procurement are aimed at improving the efficiency of business processes the holding companies through the exchange of experience of teams of different profiles - the best practices of both areas will be used in the work. For suppliers and vendors, external contacts retailer and all formal processes remain the same. The retail and distribution business procurement divisions will jointly promote manufacturers' products, but in their sales channels, as before. Retail promotion of brands remains one of the key tasks of Citylink.

2024: Appointment as CEO of Merlion

On March 1, 2024, Oleg Fomenko was appointed the new CEO of Merlion. He replaced Sergei Raskolov, who headed the group from February 2023, as well as from 2013 to 2016.

According to the press service of Merlion, Oleg Fomenko will focus on the position of the head of the company on further expanding the distribution portfolio, the commercial efficiency of the company's activities and the development of new areas. By the beginning of March 2024, the company's portfolio includes over 3,800 brands, including Russian and more than 10 own brands. The Merlion partner network has thousands of companies in all regions of Russia and the CIS countries. Sales offices are located in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk and Rostov-on-Don.
