2019: Appointment of Avast as the CEO

On March 13, 2019 the antivirus software vendor of Avast announced Ondrey Vlchek's appointment the new CEO instead of Vince Steckler who directed the company for about 10 years.

At the time of this appointment Vlchek held a position of the president of consumer division of Avast. He officially will become the head of the company on June 30, 2019. Stekler will remain in the company for a year and will act as the consultant for the period of the period of replacement of the leadership.

The Reuters news agency calls Stekler the architect of Avast who directed the company during its largest acquisition (it is about purchase of AVG Technologies) and returns to the exchange. Under its management the anti-virus vendor increased annual revenues from $20 million to $800 million.

As for Vlchek, he started the career in Avast from the simple developer and was a participant of a command which  was engaged in an output of the company to the exchange. Also Ondrey Vlchek supervised process of integration of consumer business after purchase of AVG in 2016.

In the press release it is noted that, being the technical director of Avast, Ondrey Vlchek designed cloud network of security of solutions in the field of things of Internet of Things and directed technology transformation of Avast from the traditional supplier of an anti-virus software for the PC in world leading manufacturer of cybersecurity products based on artificial intelligence.
