Biography

Dmitry Lvovich Orlov was born in 1943, in Sukhumi. He devoted all life to banking and stood at the origins of the updated banking system of new Russia. Having graduated from credit faculty of the Moscow financial institution in 1968, he worked in the system of the State Bank, and then became the managing director of the Moscow regional management of Agroprombank of the USSR.

In 1991 Dmitry Lvovich founded Vozrozhdeniye bank and remained his permanent chairman of the board up to 2012.

Since 1994 it was a part of Board of Directors of bank, having headed it in 2012.

Dmitry Lvovich paid much attention public and charity. He was a Chairman of the board the Endowment fund and the Chairman of the Board of trustees of Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and also the member of council of the Association of Russian Banks.

On December 5, 2014 it became known that the founder and the chairman of the board of directors of Vozrozhdeniye bank Dmitry Lvovich Orlov on the 72nd year died.

Awards

The highest professionalism of Dmitry Lvovich found reflection in an appreciation of the Russian and international business community. Dmitry Lvovich repeatedly was recognized as the best banker of year within the public competition held by Accounts Chamber, and in 2014 he was recognized by the best chairman of the board of directors according to Global Banking & Finance Review.

To Dmitry Lvovich the honorary title "The honored economist of the Russian Federation" is given. Among its awards there is a medal of an award and Ivan Kalita's award, a medal "In Commemoration of the 850th Anniversary of Moscow", the medal "For Strengthening of the Fighting Commonwealth", a distinction "For merits in front of the Moscow region", the sign of the Governor of the Moscow region "Thank", the sign of the governor of the Moscow region "For useful", a distinction "For faultless service to the city of Moscow".
