2020: 3.5 years of colony for the death of the patient
On June 10, 2020 the director of the Nizhny Novgorod dental clinic Aybolit Vladimir Prokhorov was sentenced to 3.5 years of corrective colony of ordinary regime for the death of the 23-year-old patient. The court found the doctor guilty of rendering the services which are not meeting safety requirements (the Paragraph "in" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
According to the joint press service of courts of law of the region, in June, 2017 died the 23-year-old patient of clinic Elena Kurbatova. To it gave an injection of an ultrakain and made dental care, however after the procedure the girl got up from the dental chair and fainted.
The doctor made resuscitation actions, but in clinic there was no adrenaline which is necessary for rendering emergency aid in such cases. The patient had to be carried to hospital No. 39 where she died from anaphylactic shock.
As relatives died told the Nizhegorodskaya Pravda newspaper what experts of "The Volga center of independent examinations and special researches" established that in dental clinic Aybolit antishock set was not fully completed.
Also other shortcomings were revealed. In particular, in the presence in the staff list of a position the specialist in the organization of health care the corresponding doctor was not accepted, also the anesthesiologist was not on the staff. Moreover, the head of an office Aybolit has no higher medical education (it has a technical average) that is direct violation of licensing of medical activity.
The defendant, being the director of a dental office and responsible for security of the provided medical services, in defiance of the current legislation did not organize quality control and safety of medical activity in a dental office, – investigators of regional government of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation claim. Vladimir Prokhorov did not admit the guilt.[1] |
