2022: Receiving 5 years in prison
At the end of November 2022, the Butyrsky Court of Moscow sentenced the marriage swindler Nodirzhon Rakhmanov to five years in prison for fraud using dating sites.
As the court established, 34-year-old Rakhmonov met women through a dating app, entered into trust in them and convinced them of his intention to create "intimate-romantic" and family relationships.
Then, under various pretexts, he lured money from his victims. Among the pretexts, in particular, he cited the presence of his cancer and the desire to open a business.
So, the swindler introduced himself as a former sambo athlete, even sent videos of the fights. He said that he was going to open his own organization for conducting fights without rules, that his team regularly participates in competitions abroad.
At the same time, the man had a wife and accomplice who helped him deceive women, posing as his sister. The couple met in the town of Salsk in 2008, they had a son, after which Nodirzhon Rakhmanov became a citizen of the Russian Federation.
In 2018, the Rakhmanovs moved to a rented apartment in the Moscow region. Nodirjon, under the false name Yevgeny Halyuto, began to give ads on dating sites, writes Komsomolskaya Pravda.
According to RIA Novosti, Olga's wife played along with the fraudster, posing as his sister. She also went to the dock as his accomplice. The court imposed a milder sentence on her - four years of suspended imprisonment.
In addition, a couple of swindlers were ordered to return the money to the deceived women. The total amount of damage from the actions of fraudsters exceeded 23.8 million rubles.[1]
