2020: Charge of theft of a toner for $1.3 million

At the beginning of October, 2020 auditors of the city of Austin (State of Texas) submitted the 72-page report on investigation in which proofs that the employee of Public library of Austin (Austin Public Library) secretly tried to take out a toner for the printer are provided and used money from the credit cards which are not belonging to it.

The accused of theft of a toner and money Randall Uayted worked in library as the accounting assistant, he had an access to ten credit cards and also he was responsible for purchase of supplies for library, in particular for replenishment action of a toner for printers.

Having studied the history of purchases on credit cards, it was revealed that only during the period from October, 2007 to July, 2019 Uayted purchased a toner a minimum of $1.3 million. Actually, according to the estimates of auditors, for these 12 years it would be required to library of a toner no more than for $150 thousand. Uayted resold the supplies purchased using the credit cards issued to it by library on the Internet.

Information that in Austin's library steal a toner arrived to the city authorities in March, 2019.
