2025: Sentence - four years in prison in the case of the sale of a newborn
On December 12, 2025, the Moscow Region Prosecutor's Office announced that the court had sentenced a criminal case on the sale of a newborn in Shchelkovo near Moscow. The doctor of the private medical clinic Elionora Salomova, the mother of the child Maral Avazova, as well as the married couple Nadira Ashirova and Kadyrbek Abduvapov were found guilty.
According to the case file, in the period from December 2024 to February 2025, the indicated married couple offered a woman who was in the last weeks of pregnancy to sell the child. The buyer found an obstetrician at a private clinic, who agreed to enter her passport data into the medical documents of the woman in labor for 150 thousand rubles.
The doctor reportedly handed over the passport of the newly-made mother to the woman in labor, after which she gave her a medical drug that provoked the girl to give birth prematurely. Then the doctor called an ambulance, reporting false information about the woman in labor, for the subsequent placement of her in the city perinatal center, where she gave birth to a boy under the passport details of the buyer.
After issuing all the necessary documents, Abduvapov took the born boy. The woman in labor received cash and a pair of new shoes for a total of 13 thousand rubles as a reward. After the transfer of the child and receiving remuneration, all persons involved in the purchase and sale of the newborn were detained by operational officers of the territorial departments of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The named persons were found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 35, paragraphs "b," "d," "z" part 2 of Art. 127.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (human trafficking). Avazova and Salamova were sentenced to four years in prison, the spouses Ashirova and Abduvapov - in the form of four and a half years. The convicts will have to serve their sentences in a general regime colony.[1]
