Career

1997-1999

Until 1997, he worked in the Klyavlinsky Central District Hospital as an obstetrician-gynecologist and head of the maternity department. After that, he moved to the Samara Regional Clinical Hospital named after M.I. Kalinin as a methodologist, and since 1999 he began working in the Ministry of Health of the Samara Region.

2006-2012

From 2006 to 2012, he was the head of the Office of the Organization of Medical Care for Women and Children. In July 2012, he became Deputy Minister - Head of the Department for the Implementation of Legislation in the Field of Health.

2024: Appointment as Head of the Ministry of Health of the Samara Region

In November 2024, Sergey Vdovenko was appointed the new head of the Ministry of Health of the Samara Region. Prior to that, he served as acting first deputy head of the department - head of the Department for the Organization of Medical Assistance to the Population.

The fact that Sergei Vdovenko headed the Ministry of Health of the Samara Region is reported on the agency's website. He replaced Armen Benyan, who was dismissed earlier in November 2024. The decision to dismiss was made following a meeting with employees of the Samara City Ambulance Station (SSMP), who filed a collective complaint about the organization of the service.

Vdovenko is an honored doctor of the Republic Ingushetia and an expert WHO on effective perinatal care. He was awarded an honorary diploma of the Minister of Health and Social Development Samara region and the Russian Federation, as well as an honorary diploma of the Governor of the Samara Region.[1]
