Biography

1987

Lipilin began officer service in 1987 in the Pacific Fleet as commander of the command group of the mine-torpedo warhead of the guard ship "Retivy." He commanded the destroyers "Fearless" and "Fast."

2004-2021

In 2004, he was appointed commander of the Varyag Guards Missile Cruiser.

From 2014 to 2018 - commander of troops and forces in the North-East of Russia. From 2018 to 2021, he served as deputy commander of the Black Sea Fleet.

In April 2021, he was appointed chief of staff - first deputy commander of the Baltic Fleet.

2024: Appointment as Commander of the Baltic Fleet

On July 8, 2024, Sergei Lipilin was appointed commander of the Baltic Fleet, former fleet commander Vice Admiral Vladimir Vorobyov became deputy commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy.
