2023: Dismissal from the Department of Health of the Voronezh Region

On October 3, 2023, the Governor of the Voronezh Region, Alexander Gusev, signed a decree terminating the powers of the interim head of the Health Department, Alexander Shchukin. The reason for the dismissal is not officially announced.

Shchukin graduated from the Burdenko Voronezh State Medical Academy (qualification "doctor") and the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation (qualification "manager"). In 2000, he worked as a urologist at the city emergency clinical hospital.

According to the Kommersant newspaper, after Schukin's resignation, his first deputy, Oleg Minakov, will be the acting head of the department. According to Kommersant-Chernozemye, one of the most likely candidates for the post of head of the department is Igor Banin, head physician of BSMP No. 1^[1]
