2024: Appointment as CEO of Ural Airlines
On August 8, 2024, the board of directors of Ural Airlines decided to resign Sergei Skuratov from the post of general director. His son Kirill Skuratov, who previously served as the first deputy general director - commercial director of the airline, was appointed to this position.
Sergei Skuratov left his post in connection with his retirement. He also sent a statement of resignation from the powers of a member of the board of directors and the board of directors of the company. It is noted that Skuratov began his career in civil aviation in 1967. He has been the permanent head of Ural Airlines for more than 30 years.
In turn, Kirill Skuratov has been working for Ural Airlines since 1996. He, the airline said in a statement, went through all stages of the labor path - from engineer to first deputy CEO. During this time, he managed to organize a "highly professional cohesive team of managers." He is well acquainted with both the economic and production side of the airline's activities.
Earlier in 2024, the Federal Air Transport Agency recommended the dismissal of two top managers of Ural Airlines in connection with the emergency landing of the aircraft of this airline near Novosibirsk in September 2023. Then there were more than 160 people on board, no one was seriously injured. The investigation found that the incident was the result of multiple violations and errors by the crew. In particular, it is alleged that incorrect actions led to a shortage of fuel when leaving for an alternate airfield. The resignation could threaten two deputy general directors - quality director Alexei Fomin and flight director Sergei Glazkov, who worked at the airline for 24 and 31 years, respectively.[1]
