The CEO's position was taken alone by Bill McDermott. Jim choice as the member of the supervisory board was supported by 25% of shareholders.
Snabe so commented on the solution:
After 20 years of work in SAP I decided that it is time to begin a new stage of the career: closer to my family. The command which rose at a wheel of SAP in 2010 achieved significant changes, and these changes at the moment are drivers for conversion of all industry |
The chairman of the board of directors and the co-founder of SAP Hasso Plattner also said:
I am proud of those results which Bill and Jim achieved together with the moment of the appointment to the post of codirectors in February, 2010. Working with two of the best leaders of the industry, now I can direct experience and Jim's efforts to activity within the supervisor of the company. |
Though Makdermott and Snabe always characterized joint work positively, in 2012-2013 Snabe faded into the background of the colleague a little. At the same time responsibility of codirectors is practically not crossed: Makdermott is concentrated on sales, and Snabe supervises development and development of products. However, for quite some time now Vishal Sikka began to run sofetverny developments SAP directly that made an operational role of Snabe not absolutely clear.
According to the analyst and the head of Constellation Research companyRay Vanga (Ray Wang), the Snabe's transition to the supervisory board of the company is connected with two objective circumstances. First, the company needs to concentrate all development in Vishal's hands, secondly, all innovations are concentrated outside Germany today, and Sikka coordinates process directly of Palo Alto (California, the USA).

Snabe has very important experience of the person who the most part of the career was engaged in programming and hardware elements of the technology sector — McKee considers. |
As notes Bloomberg, how products of Siemens became more automated, they generate huge data arrays which understanding requires difficult software. Software and services are important for Siemens as nobody else: they, as a rule, more profitable in comparison with industrial goods, they bring the predicted income and provide constancy of the customer base as it is difficult to companies to pass from one software to another.
According to the charter of Siemens, members of the supervisory board should not be more senior than 70 years at the time of their election or prolongation of term of membership.
