2022: Appointed CEO at Roche Diagnostics

In early October 2022, it became known about the appointment of Matt Sousa as the new CEO of Roche Diagnostics. He will officially take over on January 1, 2023 as part of a larger reshuffle in the company's management.

Matt Souses will become CEO of Roche Diagnostics with Souses taking the place of Thomas Shineker, the current (by October 2022) head of diagnostics, who will become CEO of the Roche group in March 2023. Schineker has led Roche Diagnostics since early 2008.

Matt Sousa's Roche Diagnostics career spanned from 2022 across Asia, Latin America, Europe and North America in the diagnostic and pharmaceutical divisions. As follows from the press release, the combination of scientific knowledge with commercial experience makes Souza an excellent head of the diagnostics division.

Matt Souse began working for Roche Diagnostics in 2002 in the company's diagnostic and pharmaceutical divisions. In 2018, Souse moved to biotech company Genentech. In 2019, he returned to Roche Diagnostics as CEO of the North American Region Division.
