Biography

Sterlikova Natalya Vladimirovna was born on August 20, 1976 in Siberia, in Krasnoyarsk in family of engineers.

In 1993 with honors left secondary school, entered the Krasnoyarsk medical institute where studied to the 4th rate.

In 1997 in connection with moving of family to St. Petersburg continued training at the St. Petersburg state medical university of the academician I.P. Pavlov. Already during study showed much interest in neurology and neurosurgery. In 1999 ended with honors SPBGMU, further studied in an internship on surgery at department of faculty surgery, and from 2000 to 2002 – in a clinical internship on neurosurgery at department of neurology and neurosurgery SPBGMU of I.P. Pavlov.

After the termination of an internship since 2002 works as the neurosurgeon in clinic of neurosurgery of Institute of a brain of the person of N.P. Bekhtereva of RAS. In clinic treatment of tumors of a head and spinal cord, effects of a craniocereberal injury, epilepsy, extrapyramidal violations, anomalies of development of nervous system, degenerative diseases of a backbone is carried out.

Since 2006 is the assistant to department of neurology and neurosurgery SPBGMU of I.P. Pavlov, combining medical work, scientific research and pedagogical activity.

In 2007 under the leadership of professor S.V. Mozhaev defended the master's thesis on the subject "Features of Pathogenesis and Surgical Treatment of Anomaly of Kiari I of Type". As a result of the conducted researches kliniko-neurologic manifestations, current forms, anatomo-clinical options were studied and the main neurologic syndromes at Kiari I's anomaly of type are selected, the importance of different methods of inspection is defined and diagnostic criteria of anomaly are set, pathogenetic features of anomaly of Kiari I of type and its complications are specified, indications to the differentiated treatment are developed and the surgery technique is modified.

On the basis of kliniko-anatomic comparisons two options of anomaly Kiari I of type are selected: the isolated back option with a compression of a dorzalny surface of a trunk and verkhnesheyny segments of a spinal cord and the mixed front-back option combining a compression of both ventral, and dorzalny surfaces of these structures.

It is established that in pathogenesis of anomaly of Kiari the compression of a medulla and verkhnesheyny segments of a spinal cord and also vessels and nerves of kraniovertebralny area the displaced cerebellum tonsils, arakhnoidalny spikes has essential value that leads to emergence of liquorodynamic violations; formation of siringomiyelichesky cysts is defined by existence of the accompanying anatomic peculiarities of a back cranial pole and nezarashcheniye of the central channel of a spinal cord.

Clinical manifestations of anomaly of Kiari I of type are provided by six neurologic syndromes: gipertenzionno-gidrotsefalny (66.3%), bulbarno-pyramidal (60.9%), cerebellar (79.3%), radicular (89.1%), siringomiyelichesky (28.3%) and syndrome of vertebralno-bazilyarny insufficiency (53.3%).

In dissertation work it is defined what the main method of treatment of anomaly Kiari I of type who is followed by the accruing clinical manifestations and development of complications is surgical, assuming recovery of a likvorotsirkulyation, elimination of a compression oblong and verkhnesheyny segments of a spinal cord and also vessels and cranial nerves at the level of a kraniovertebralny joint. The solution of these tasks is reached by rezektsionny trepanation of a back cranial pole, a subpialny resection of tonsils of a cerebellum and reconstruction of a big occipital tank. Timely surgical treatment allows to achieve liquidation of a gipertenzionny syndrome, reduction of bulbarno-pyramidal, cerebellar, radicular syndromes, a syndrome of vertebralno-bazilyarny insufficiency and reduction of the size of siringomiyelichesky cysts in the presence of a siringomiyeliya that leads to decrease in degree of neurologic deficit, improvement of a status of patients and increase in level of their social and labor adaptation.

Since 2010 also combines work in division of the emergency help in the Leningrad regional clinical hospital as the duty neurosurgeon.

For 2018 Sterlikova N.V. continues scientific research on studying of anomalies of development of kraniovertebralny area, is engaged in studying of effects of a craniocereberal injury and a vegetative status.
