Education

In 2000 he graduated from Pavlodar State University with a degree in economics and management in the social sphere and industries.

In 2000 to 2002, under the Bolashak program, he studied in the United States, graduated from the master's degree from the University of Maryland with a degree in business with a degree in Finance.

Career

2002-2009

From 2002 to 2006 he worked in the Kazakhstan branch of the British audit company Ernst & Young Kazakhstan as a tax consultant.

From 2006 to March 2009, as Director of the Department of Tax Accounting and Tax Planning at the Oil and Gas Company Exploration Production KazMunayGas.

In March 2009, he was appointed Vice Minister of Economy and Budget Planning.

2010-2012

In March 2010, he became Vice Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Kazakhstan.

From February 1, 2012 to April 14, 2017, a member of the board on economics and financial policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

In parallel, holding a post in the civil service from 2009-2012. served as Deputy Governor for Kazakhstan of the World Bank and Deputy Governor for Kazakhstan of the EBRD.

2016-2019

From December 28, 2016 to February 25, 2019, the Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan. From March 22 to July 2019, Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan Tokayev.

2022

From July 22 to January 13, 2022, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tokayev on socio-economic issues.

2023: Appointment as Head of the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan

In early September 2023, Timur Suleimenov was appointed the new chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan instead of Galymzhan Pirmatov. Suleimenov's candidacy was unanimously supported by deputies at a meeting of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.[1]
