Almost a decade later, I decided to leave OpenAI, "wrote Sutskever on social network X (formerly Twitter). - The trajectory of the company's development was simply magical, and I am sure that OpenAI will be able to create generative artificial intelligence that will be both safe and useful.

The head of OpenAI Sam Altman, commenting on the departure of Ilya Sutskever, called this event "very sad" and added the following:

Ilya is one of the greatest minds of our generation, a guiding light in our area and a dear friend. His brilliant ability and foresight are well known; his warmth and compassion are less well known, but just as important. Without him, OpenAI wouldn't be what it is.

According to Altman, the place of Sutskever will be taken by the director of OpenAI for scientific research of the company Jakub Pachotsky.[1]
