Education

In 1995, Tarasova graduated from I.N. Ulyanov Chuvash State University with a degree in medical medicine, having received the qualification of a doctor. From 1995 to 1996, she underwent an internship in the specialty "therapy," in 1999 she completed a clinical residency in this area. In 2002, she received the degree of candidate of medical sciences, and in 2003 she underwent professional retraining with a degree in gastroenterology at the Nizhny Novgorod State Medical Academy. In 2012, she defended her doctoral dissertation, receiving the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences.

Career

1996-2021

From January 1996 to August 1997, Tarasova worked as a doctor - therapist of the district service of the 1st territorial department in the 11th category of the Medical Unit of the P.O. V.I. Chapaev. From April 1999 to 2025 she was an assistant in the Department of Internal Medicine, assistant professor of the Department of Internal Medicine, head of the course of clinical gastroenterology and hepatology, assistant professor of the Department of Hospital Therapy No. 1, professor and head of the Department of Hospital Therapy at Chuvash State University named after I.N. Ulyanova. In addition, over the years, Tarasova acted as the head of the clinical and diagnostic Republican Center for Gastroenterology, as well as a gastroenterologist and deputy chief physician for therapy of the budget healthcare institution "Republican Clinical Hospital" of the Ministry of Health of Chuvashia. In the period from 2006 to 2018 and from 2021 she worked as the chief freelance gastroenterologist of the Ministry of Health of the Chuvash Republic.

2025: Appointment as the head of the Ministry of Health of Chuvashia

On July 14, 2025, the head of the Chuvash Republic, Oleg Nikolaev, appointed Larisa Tarasova to the post of Minister of Health of the region. In this post, she replaced Olesya Ignatieva, who headed the department since May 2025.
