2025: Arrest in a bribe case of ₽2,8 million for the supply of medical equipment

The Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Khakassia announced on February 4, 2024, the detention of the former chief physician of a medical institution in Minusinsk, suspected of receiving a bribe of ₽2,8 million when concluding contracts for the supply of equipment. According to local media, we are talking about Vadim Yesin.

According to TASS, the investigative department for the Minusinsk district opened a criminal case under part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on an especially large scale). Materials for initiating the case were provided by the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

According to the investigation, in the period from January 2023 to December 2024, the head of the medical organization, together with his subordinates, ensured the conclusion of contracts for the supply of medical equipment and products at inflated prices. The only supplier was Med-Engineering, with which contracts were concluded for a total amount of more than ₽40 million.

According to the agency, representatives of a commercial organization handed over bribes in the form of funds to the chief doctor and other employees of a medical institution. Illegal remuneration was made possible by overstating the cost of the goods supplied.

During the investigation, searches were carried out at the place of residence of the suspect and in a medical organization. Investigators seized documentation of importance for the investigation of the criminal case, funds and computer equipment.

The investigating authorities are working to identify other employees of a medical institution and a commercial organization involved in the commission of a corruption crime. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the detained former chief physician is being resolved.[1]
