Appointment in Salesforce

On January 16, 2012 it became known that Vivek Kundra, earlier chief IT specialist of the USA, passed into Salesforce.com to a position of the executive vice president for the key markets. Marc Benioff, the chairman of the board of directors and the CEO of the company, provided the new employee to Twitter, having called him responsible including for relationship with state structures.

Let's remind that Vivek Kundr's resignation from a position of the Chief information officer of the federal U.S. Government became known in June, 2011, on this post he worked 2.5 years. Its work in the government received both laudatory, and critical responses. In particular, it headed for use of public cloud services by the state enterprises instead of further development of own data centers.

It also did not hesitate in criticism to obsolete federal IT systems and also excessively expensive projects. So, he negatively spoke of useless reports on IT security for State Department of the USA, wasteful projects of management for veterans and others.

Work in the U.S. Government and earlier

Vivek Kundra before holding a post of the chief IT specialist of the USA, Kundra was the Assistant Secretary of trade and technologies of the State of Virginia and also worked as the director of technologies of the District of Columbia.

Recently submitted the original plan for the embodiment to life of the State cloud computing strategy according to which about 25% of rather big IT budget of the USA will be directed to creation, maintenance and development of cloud storage systems and data processing.

Vivek Kundra expects that transition to the programs which are not requiring a large number of servers will help the government to save enormous money.
