2021:8 years in prison for a bribe from a supplier of medical products
In mid-July 2021, the Maykop City Court sentenced Oksana Volik, former deputy chief physician of the Maykop City Clinical Hospital, to eight years in prison. She was found guilty of receiving a bribe on an especially large scale (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
According to Kommersant, citing the Investigative Committee (SC) for the Republic of Adygea, Volik in 2019-2020 received a bribe in the total amount of more than 1.7 million rubles for the general protection of the enterprise selling wholesale medical products. In particular, the deputy head physician created advantages for this enterprise over other suppliers when concluding contracts for the supply of goods for the needs of the hospital, the UK said.
According to investigators, the deputy head physician intended to receive a total of 2.4 million rubles for 30 concluded contracts totaling more than 16 million rubles, but could not complete what had begun due to circumstances beyond her control - the suspect was detained by law enforcement agencies. The investigation was carried out by the regional FSB, which, among other things, listened to the negotiations of the suspects.
The court sentenced her to 8 years in prison with a stay of execution until the execution of the 14-year-old dependent young child.
In court, Oksana Volik denied the charges, saying that she received the phone as a gift, and did not take bribes, but in the last word she pleaded guilty and repented
The criminal case against the director of the company, which carried out wholesale deliveries of medicines to the hospital of the region and accused of giving a bribe to an official in the amount of more than 1.7 million rubles, as well as bribery of a contract service employee, was completed. With an indictment approved by the prosecutor's office of the republic, he was sent to court.[1]
