2021: Loss of millions due to investments in the financial pyramid
In November 2021, the famous ballerina Anastasia Volochkova turned to the police in the case of fraud involving. financial pyramid QBF
In a conversation with Kommersant, Volochkova said that in mid-June 2020, a certain Timur called her mobile phone, introducing himself as a representative of QBF. The young man said that he found a number in the "database of famous people of Russia" and asked her to recommend the company to his friends. When she refused, a QBF representative invited her to become an investor herself.
Volochkova entered into an agreement for a period of one year and transferred 2 million rubles to the company's account at 10% per annum. Later, Timur convinced her to transfer another 1 million rubles for three months. Volochkov, according to her, was "somewhat wary" that all this time empty payment orders came to her without amounts and signatures.
As a result, Volochkova, unlike hundreds of other victims, managed to return not only her million, but also the profit from the deposit - 150 thousand rubles after the agreed deadline.
According to her, in total she invested 3 million rubles in the company, but 1.7 million rubles were never returned to her. The ballerina filed an application with the OMVD in the Tver district of Moscow.
After the searches that the employees of the GUEBiPK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted in May 2021 as part of the criminal case of especially large-scale fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the QBF practically curtailed its work.
In total, there are about 500 officially registered victims in the case, the newspaper writes. In total, according to the investigation, 5-7 billion rubles could be stolen from depositors.
On November 7, QBF beneficiary Roman Shpakov was arrested in absentia. The investigation considered him the organizer of the pyramid. According to Kommersant, Shpakov was put on the international wanted list and by mid-November 2021 could be hiding in the UAE. By court order, his real estate, cars and shares in several closed investment funds owned by organizations affiliated with group members were seized.[1]
