2018: Appointment of ZTE as the head
On July 5, 2018 Xiu Ziyang was appointed the CEO of ZTE. The company updated top management and Board of Directors upon the demand of the American authorities which laid down the corresponding condition of removal of sanctions.
Before heading ZTE, Xiu Ziyang directed the German division of the company and was the president on development of a product portfolio of ZTE Telecom Cloud and Core Network.
In addition to a position of the CEO, ZTE appointed the new chief financial officer. The vice president of financial department Li Ying became him. Besides, the new board member Gu Junying became the head of personnel department.
In April, 2018 ZTE lost an opportunity to buy components and software from the American partners because of the restrictions imposed by the U.S. Government. In June it was succeeded to agree: the company undertook to pay up to $1.4 billion compensation and within 30 days to dismiss all board members having positions of the senior vice presidents or above.
According to the South China Morning Post edition, by July 5, 2018 ZTE broke off labor agreements with the top management, including with executive and senior vice presidents.
Wang Xiyu became the new technical director of ZTE, Yang Jianming began to manage a supply channel, Xie Junshi is selected by the operating officer. Wang Xiang began to direct strategy and investments, and Xu Feng supervises division on release of the subscriber equipment now.
The Board of Directors led by Yin Yimin was dismissed. The new chairman it was elected 54-year-old Li Zixue. He was the secretary of the Communist Party of China in division of the Chinese space scientific and technical corporation — the largest state shareholder of ZTE.[1]
