Biography

2020: Position assignment of the CEO of Panasonic

In the middle of November, 2020 Panasonic was appointed by Yuki Kusumi the following CEO. Thus, on April 1, 2021 Kusumi will replace on this post of the acting director Kazukhiro of Kazuhiro Tsuga.

Till April, 2021 Kusumi will continue to head automobile business of the company. It is known that in due time he took the initiative of creation of separate business division of production of automobile accumulators together with Toyota Motor. Both Kusumi, and Zug work in the engineering sphere so the progress Kusumi gained trust of Zug which was responsible also in due time for automobile business.

It is known that on June 24, 2021 Kusumi will become the president of the company, and Zug, earlier heading structural reform, will become the new chairman of the company without the representative rights. Trains held the CEO's post in 2012, having taken Fumio Otsubo place. In eight years he decided to leave the business which was not bringing income on production of plasma TVs and also began structural reform of the company, including sold semiconductor business of Panasonic of Taiwanese company and refused business on production of liquid crystal display panels. Zug established partnership with Tesla corporation and helped creation of joint venture for production of batteries with Nevada in 2014.

So far it is unknown what objects will set for Kusumi company, but it is expected that it will accelerate restructuring of business and will try to bring Panasonic to a way of growth. The company also announced that in April, 2022 it will undertake the next structural reform and will become the holding company to specify obligations of each business division and to accelerate decision making processes.^[1]
