2025: Sentence - 1 year 10 months imprisonment for the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements

The perpetrators in the case of mass infection of schoolchildren with tuberculosis in Dalnegorsk received real terms of imprisonment. The corresponding decision was made by the Primorsky Regional Court on June 19, 2025, satisfying the appeal of the prosecutor's office.

According to Kommersant, an individual entrepreneur Yuri Kononenko received a sentence of 1 year and 10 months in prison, his employee Nadezhda Stozharova was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months. Both persons involved in the criminal case will serve time in a penal colony.

Those guilty of mass infection of children with tuberculosis in Primorye were given real terms

In March 2025, the Dalnegorsky District Court of Primorye found Yuri Kononenko and Nadezhda Stozharova guilty of providing services that do not meet safety requirements. The woman was also found guilty of using a deliberately forged document.

Kononenko was sentenced to restriction of freedom for a period of 1 year 8 months, Stozharova - 1 year 5 months of restriction of freedom. Prosecutors found the sentence excessively lenient and appealed it on appeal.

In April 2024, four cases of tuberculosis were confirmed in secondary school No. 17 in Dalnegorsk. In 53 schoolchildren, diaskintests gave positive results. The final diagnosis of tuberculosis was established in 12 children.

According to the department [[Rospotrebnadzor, the number of children with tuberculosis of the lungs increased to seven, another 67 children were diagnosed with latent tuberculosis infection. After the outbreak of the disease, the entire school was closed for sanitary treatment, and the students were transferred to home schooling.

Yuri Kononenko specialized in catering for schoolchildren in Dalnegorsk. He accepted Nadezhda Stozharova, a patient with tuberculosis and hepatitis, as a kitchen worker. The woman did not undergo a medical commission, and after employment she attached a fake medical book to her personal case.[1]
