History of the basis and feature of business of the company

The automobile holding "Terra-avto" contains 11 car centers in St. Petersburg and in the northwest of the country, including network of painting and body productions and network of salons on car sale with a run. All car centers — the official dealers of the brands LADA, KIA, GM of the highest category entering into TOP of ratings of Russia in the different nominations.

In spite of the fact that automobile business is old as the world, it still saves the high competitive advantages. In 2011 owners of business made the decision on consolidation of assets and creation of management company. But having carried out inventory of IT infrastructure and the processes existing in the company, it became clear that consolidation on the available resources and capacities is simply impossible.

About advantages of use of a cloud

As a result of the made decision in a cloud services, operating activities and customer service, crucial for business, were taken out. Now in a cloud of IaaS-provider terminal servers, the gateway, database servers, the server of the active directory (the Active Directory, AD) and many other things are located. To a cloud of provider as it is necessary, the optics from the telecom operator servicing "Terra car" is finished that allows users to interpret such networked environment as a single local network at offices of the company.

As it was noted earlier, in a cloud of IaaS-provider infrastructure "Terra car" was taken out and at once after "moving" it was succeeded to feel all delights of a cloud. According to representatives of the company, before the choice of hosting provider the analysis of the players who are available at that time was carried out and as a result a choice was made for benefit of IT-GRAD company.

One of key advantages of placement in IT-GRAD is reliability. In five years of cooperation with this cloud supplier we had no significant incident. Difficulties, the received results and plans for the future

The main problem which it was necessary to face is the actual lack of infrastructure as all iron servers at that time morally became outdated and did not cope with the available loading. All this threatened services of the company. The made decision to migrate in a cloud was regarded as a problem too, behind shoulders there was no experience with cloud computing plus setup of clients on places was coming. But it turned out that not everything is so terrible. Migration took place surprisingly quickly enough, built telecommunication infrastructure longer.

The effective objective of merger of companies was achieved. Business receives all reports from "one window" now. It became many times easier to service such infrastructure — both physically, and logically. The Terra car programmers could integrate and unify the available databases, now all dealer centers work according to the uniform developed and approved standards. In crisis we continue to please clients with reasonable prices, high-quality service and individual approach. In plans — development in regions".
