Obtaining a Ready for Astra certificate guarantees the compatibility of the Electoral CodecWorks with Astra Linux and confirms that the software is installed correctly, works stably and fully complies with the requirements of the Astra Linux environment. The Ready for Astra program has been operating since 2016 and is aimed at developing an ecosystem of domestic compatible technologies. 2019: Kontron Symkloud-based 4K transcoding solution MS2900

On June 4, 2019, Elecard and Kontron announced a joint solution for 4K transcoding in real time.

The broadcasting industry at the present stage faces various challenges, one of them is the ability to minimize energy consumption and reduce the amount of space required for server equipment. According to the developer, the Select CodecWorks transcoder based on the Kontron SYMKLOUD MS2900 hardware platform can help cope with such calls. The 2-unit (2U) Kontron SYMKLOUD high-density platform can include up to 9 MSP8050 blades that can be replaced "hot" without shutting down the system. Each blade is equipped with two independent Xeon E3-1578 v5 processors with integrated Intel Iris Pro Graphics P580.

Elecard CodecWorks - software real-time transcoder HEVC/ H.265, AVC/H.264 and MPEG-2 video supports SRT and NDI protocols and is aimed at creating ready-made transcoding solutions of high quality. It allows you to create effective coding schemes of any complexity and ensures the reliability of solutions through the use of input stream redundancy schemes and centralized control through the GUI and web interface, noted in Elecard.

The comprehensive hardware and software solution from Elecard and Kontron, according to the developers, can be easily integrated into projects of any scale and focus for the implementation of high-density and scalable HEVC transcoding. Such a solution goes beyond conventional coding to achieve low power consumption and high performance provided by the maximum number of encoded streams per 1 unit (1U).

According to Elecard, CodecWorks (2U - 21-inch) allows you to simultaneously transcode 9 4K 8bit channels on a 2-unit (2U) server into multiple profiles in real time, allowing you to maximize the number of low-cost transcoded video streams.
