2025: Presentation of Intangible Asset Management Subsystem
1C Pro Consulting brings the intangible asset management subsystem to the market. The extension integrates with the flagship "1C" configurations and allows you to manage the life cycle of the NMA from the moment the idea is initiated to the commercialization of the created product. The company announced this on January 22, 2025.
Intangible assets (NMAs) are assets that have no physical incarnation but are capable of generating profit for the business. NMA is most often understood as the results of intellectual activity, including discoveries and inventions, patents, industrial designs, computer programs, trademarks, copyrights for works of art, etc. NMA is one of the markers of innovative development of companies that directly affects the market valuation of business value.
The development of 1C Missile Defense Consulting will allow customers to deploy a modern digital tool for full monitoring, management and protection of intellectual property. With its help, companies will be able to maintain accounting tax and accounting for NMA, as well as increase the assessment of the value of the business in the event of a sale or exit to. IPO
Several factors became the prerequisites for the project to create a subsystem. Firstly, this is a universal movement of business towards technological sovereignty. Companies in large numbers are developing new intelligent products, in particular, for import substitution, which need to be properly accounted for.
The next factor is the need for business to protect the created NMAs. As a rule, all intellectual property within companies is created by employees. Without correct documentation, registration, obtaining a patent for a new product and correct registration, the company will not be able to prove the right to belong and protect it from compromise in the event of dismissal of personnel.
Finally, another factor is the need for a correct assessment of the company's capitalization and its creditworthiness. If the development of NMA is not taken into account in the accounting report, all funds allocated for it are recorded in the direct expenses of the company, which reduces its profitability, does not allow to increase capitalization. This subsystem is supplied under a separate license to "1C" and allows the responsible persons to conduct document management, control the deadlines for the implementation of certain stages and accounting for expenses when creating an NMA. The solution starts separate projects for the development of each product. The user monitors the project monthly, and the financial officer analyzes the project costs and generates the value of the asset. Thus, investments in NMAs are not included in the company's expenses at a time, but over the useful life of the NMAs through depreciation. With this approach, the financial condition of the company is correctly reflected, its creditworthiness is preserved, and its capitalization increases. In addition, in the case of a controversial situation, when creating two similar products by different companies, the business will be able to confirm the fact of the development process and obtain a corresponding patent.
In Russia, the culture of accounting for intangible assets began to form relatively recently. According to various estimates, the average share of NMAs of Russian companies as of January 2025 is no more than 7%. Accordingly, the business significantly underestimates the potential of the NMA and loses benefits in assessing the market value of the company. Our product will allow you to control the management of NMA and make it transparent. This will give customers the clear tools necessary to profit from such assets, "said Nikolai Mokretsov, partner and executive director of 1C Missile Defense Consulting. |
In addition to the 1C module, ABM Consulting will provide a set of methodological documents that must be kept in the company when creating intangible assets. It, in particular, includes regulations, policies and provisions.
