3CX Phone System is the program IP PBX based on open standards equipped with a full range of means of unified communications. 3CX does installation, management and maintenance of automatic telephone exchange very simple, at the same time, offering business a number of advantages:
- simple installation and service,
- reduction of phone bills thanks to SIP VoIP trunks / telephony,
- increase in productivity due to use of unified communications,
- the integrated video conferences on the basis of WebRTC,
- work without binding to the place using applications for Android and iOS,
- increase in the service level of clients: Click2Call and CRM integration,
- installation in the local environment: virtualization on the server or the budget mini-PC,
- deployment in the "cloud" environment: full control with Google Cloud or OVH.
In the last update of 3CX Service Pack 5 emphasis is put on new abilities to manage of VoIP by infrastructure. Besides, the company works as a full speed on updating SP6 which release is expected within one-two months.
Specialists of 3CX are concentrated on development of new opportunities of the platform. Some of them are already implemented or close to it:
- the module of hotel automatic telephone exchange – calls alarm clocks and integration with management systems for the real estate (PMS),
- WebRTC Click2Call calls – very demanded function for calls from the website,
- playlists for the choice of music on deduction, i.e. folders with musical files of .wav of a format; a system touches files, losing them to the calling subscribers,
- the web client 3CX and a web a panel of the operator – absolutely new client of a system working in the browser; it will have a number of new opportunities and the new intuitive interface,
- system of creation of the voice applications VAD (Voice Application Designer); new VAD which will be integrated with service of Queues of calls (call center) is developed, management of outgoing calls will be added and performance is seriously improved,
- the mode of work by turns in clients 3CX and IP phones – for the round-the-clock services or at the enterprise with a continual loop of production; this function is often requested, and now the company works on integrating it into basic functionality.
For the beginning of March, 2012 over 25000 commercial licenses IP PBX 3CX were installed worldwide. Thus, the 3CX Phone System platform continues to remain one of leaders in the market of virtual telecommunication products for the enterprises of small and medium business (SMB) working with Windows.
2014: 3CX WebMeeting
On January 22, 2014 company 3CX announced plans to bring the solution 3CX WebMeeting as addition (add-on) to 3CX Phone System to the market.
The web conference can be easily initiated from the portal or using the client 3CXPhone. Participants can join using the phone, or the browser Firefox or Chrome without software installation, using WebRTC (it is expected in the second quarter 2014).
Using WebRTC, participants of a meeting do not need to set the additional software or Adobe Flash. The Google WebRTC technology, together with the main Firefox and Chrome browsers, allows participants to collect video conference (an exit is planned for the second quarter 2014)

3CX Phone System v.11 Beta
A number of new features is added to the 11th editorial office 3CX Phone System and the existing options are improved and also some shortcomings are corrected. Now IP platform 3CX found a full support of the 64-bit systems. In the new version support of the built-in video is added, additional functions for Queues appeared. Performance is considerably improved and security of a system thanks to new settings – protection of PIN by the code and blocking of calls by the countries is increased.
The incomplete list of new opportunities and functions in 3CX Phone System 11 Beta:
- full support of the 64-bit systems. IP PBX 3CX automatically installs 32-bit or 64-bit components on a system depending on its digit capacity;
- the improved support of video calls;
- an opportunity to hide reference number;
- support of numbers of emergency services – users can dial numbers of emergency services even if outgoing calls are prohibited;
- obtaining notifications on the passed calls by e-mail;
- an opportunity to block certain countries for outgoing calls. Setup of the notification for e-mail when the subscriber tries to call in the blocked direction is also possible;
- the possibility of protection by PING – is required the PIN code for an input, otherwise, the subscriber will not be able to make outgoing calls;
- the re-registration of trunks and tunnels became quicker, the feature to control outgoing Caller ID at the level of a trunk is also added (it is possible to select a field where Caller ID will be substituted);
- two new modes for autotune of SIP telephones;
- autotune of the SIP telephone as the external subscriber using STUN;
- autotune of the SIP telephone using SIP PROXY MANAGER;
- setup of different tunes depending on type of an incoming call: Queue, External, etc.;
- automatic removal from the parking for the subscriber who parked this call or on in advance configured number;
- an opportunity to create the musical playlist, for the entering and parked calls;
- velicheno number of the general parking slots with 10 to 50;
- an opportunity to hide statistics or Caller ID for Group;
- 3CX MyPhone Clients is the new section in 3CX Management console, shows all connected users in real time, their IP addresses, registration time and also MyPhone inclusion method – an input from the browser or through the Desktop Component and also whether updating Desktop Components is required;
- improvement of ISDN of signaling and replacement of Caller name;
- if the unknown subscriber calls through IVR, this call can be directed to a specific destination point;
- support of Google Chrome.
3CX Phone System v.11 Beta 2
2 steels are available to users of 3CX Phone System 11 Beta, the following is additional functions.
3CX Management Console:
- installation by the minimum duration of record of a call;
- 3CX Backup and Restore checks backup the file, for ensuring safety of data and a successful backup;
- the procedure of recovery became 80% faster, than earlier.
- the built-in multi language support is updated: the German, Spanish and Italian languages, tooltip balloons are also finished.
3CX My Phone:
- a possibility of cleaning of the list of the passed calls.
- the following languages in 3CX MyPhone are updated: German, Spanish, Italian, Danish, Chinese, Dutch, Croatian;
- numbers parked on the general slots of the parking automatically park on the first free slot.
3CX Web Reports:
- web reports on types of outgoing calls (international, internal, mobile, local) and on groups of calls.
3CX Support Information Package:
- displays information on the operating system and a log of Windows.

3CX Phone System v.10 Beta
This version of 3CX Phone System underwent the basic change directed to consolidation in one interface of earlier separate products. So in the 10th version the 3CX MyPhone separate user console was a part of the 3CX Assistant application earlier. Such merge gives advantage in management and solves 3CX MyPhone compatibility issue on Mac computers.
Unification is reached based on Microsoft Silverlight technology. Thanks to Silverlight one more additional benefit appeared – now the 3CX MyPhone console can work as the web application or as the program which is locally installed on the computer.
Besides in the new version of 3CX Phone System v.10 Beta also other changes and changes entered:
- Email notifications of key events of 3CX Phone System in Windows Event Log and 3CX Event Log.
- Support of the Plug and Play for 3CXPhone for iPhone, Android and Windows, Grandstream Executive GXP-21xx and the Yealink phones. It means that now it is possible just to turn on the device in network, to appoint number through the Management console, after that a system itself will configure all the rest. Now it is not necessary to specify URL of autotune or to use DHCP option 66.
- Full support of the new Grandstream GXP-1450, GXP 2100, GXP 2110 and GXP 2120 phones. V firmware is for this purpose necessary. 1.0.1.56 above. Please note that this functionality still in the status beta.
- Support of the videophones Grandstream GXP 3140, GXP 3175.
- Support of the devices Yealink VP-2009P.
- Possibility of maintaining "black list" of the IP addresses.
- Possibility of blocking of registration of external numbers.
- Possibility of installation of prohibition for a certain user (Extension) of connection from external network.
- Restrictions for registration of subscribers through 3CX Tunnel.

The commercial version of 3CX Phone System v.10 Beta underwent some changes too:
- The functionality of the section of Conferences in 3CX MyPhone is simplified that considerably facilitates process of creation of a conference.
- The Queue tab is added to 3CX MyPhone which allows to trace a status of queues of calls.
- Extended partition of BLF – allows to carry out autotune for buttons of fast set and user codes on the supported models of IP phones.
- Full support of the broadband G.722 codec for HD class IP phones.
- Automatic comparison of an incoming call to entry in the telephone directory and data mapping on the display of IP phone.
In 3CX Phone System v.10 beta replacement of port of autotune from port 5481 on port 5000 is made. The appeared version of 3CX Phone System has a number of restrictions, being in the status beta. In May, 2011 it was announced full compatibility from Skype Connect that is confirmed with the appropriate certificate. Now tens of thousands of users of 3CX around the world will be able to call cheaper and to communicate through Skype services, usual for them. Obtaining this certificate by developer laboratory 3CX became the next step to the strategy of the company on minimization of communication expenses for corporate clients. Skype Connect™ offers clients, interaction with the existing SIP of automatic telephone exchange or the systems of unified communications. Connection of Skype to 3CX Phone System, will allow employees to use service as one of external lines for outgoing calls on stationary or mobile phones on the Skype rates. Besides, at the order of the direct phone number through Skype, it is possible to receive incoming calls from clients.
The huge perspective for conducting effective business is put as Skype Click & Call. Using the Skype Click & Call function enough to place the call key on the website or in signatures of e-mail, and communication with the client to be reduced to one click of a mouse. At the same time all calls of Skype coming to 3CX Phone System will be processed, as well as any other call, and it will allow to use queues, transfer of calls, IVR and other additional functions available to 3CX.
3CX Phone System v.10 for the Windows operating system
Emergence of the new user application - 3CX MyPhone became the main change. Integration of MyPhone into the main distribution kit of the 3CX Phone System system active participation of users for identification strong and weaknesses of the platform demanded. Within the last three months developers actively interacted with the clients who set betas for comprehensive "field" testing of 3CX Phone System. As a result the final version of 3CX Phone System v.10 found the following functional features:
- simple in use of 3CX MyPhone which replaced 3CX Assistant;
- 3CX MyPhone considerably simplifies installation process;
- 3CX MyPhone is supported for Mac;
- the functionality of call center – call center edition is added;
- notifications for Events of Windows and sending messages for e-mail for key events;
- editing "black list" of the IP addresses;
- possibility of blocking of subscribers for registration from the outside;
- restrictions for connection of subscribers on the Tunnel;
- record of a greeting via phone;
- work with memory and the processor is optimized;
- Service classes – outgoing rules for separate groups are added;
- support of subjects in 3CX MyPhone/3CX Assistant.
The MyPhone utility opens for the user of 3CX full-fledged opportunities of unified communications together with functionality of VoIP-systems: these are conferences, a presence status, transfer of calls and others, all this is available in one application now.
Plug-in of Call Center Module - the functional sall-center for IP PBX 3CX 10 of the version
It is a separate plug-in, it is rather simple to them to activate a license key on already set automatic telephone exchange. The plug-in has all necessary functionality for the organization of the corporate sall-center. Information with Call Center Module comes in real time to the center of administration of 3CX MyPhone where it is displayed in the form of expanded statistics. The supervisor has an opportunity to manage and control the calls coming to the sall-center and also to keep track of quantity of the answered answered calls, average and maximum waiting time, the time spent of the agent in / out of turn and many other things.
Call Center Module provides to the owner the whole complex of additional functionality which expands interaction during the work with the module and does work of the sall-center of more effective:
- function of the Hint is a function of queue. Listening to answers of the agent to questions, the supervisor can put in a ward and give necessary hints, at the same time the client will not hear this conversation;
- the Listening function – allows the supervisor to listen to the current real-time conversations;
- function Free Time – the configured interval during which the agent can make marks about last conversation or fills the client's card, in this interval calls on it will not be distributed. The interval for summing up is configured for each queue;
- the Panel function – the web page which can be output to the big screen, with a total quantity of the expecting calls received and not received calls and also the average time of waiting. Signals when exceeding the maximum waiting time in queue. It is possible to set the SLA parameters and to receive notifications, in the form of e-mail and logs, at their violation.
3CX Phone System 10 Service Pack 6
The following corrections are in the new edition made:
- the information display of 3CX supports the latest version of the Google Chrome browser;
- 3CX the Tunnel supports even more NAT of broadcastings, the problem with "voice in one direction" is corrected (3CX SIP Proxy Manager should be updated);
- templates for the Grandstream and Cisco Phone IP phones are updated;
- correct updating of ports, trunks and outgoing rules when readdressing on subscribers with Deflect (302 diversion header).
Also Service Pack 6 adds 3CX Phone System 10 a number of new features:
- an opportunity to consider the cost of calls by the set time parameter. The time frame can be any, is set in minutes. This parameter is called 'BillFrequency' (it is available Settings> In addition> the User parameters);
- templates for autotune of the Yealink T32G and T38G IP phones.
Module of integration of a Google service Apps/Gmail into IP PBX 3CX
For free testing in the spring of 2012 the additional expansion for IP PBX 3CX allowing to obtain with an incoming call data on the subscriber from Google Contacts is provided. Such convenient functionality is added in the updated plug-in of 3CX CRM Integration module for the 3CX Phone System virtual telecommunication platform.
The plug-in allows to obtain contact information from the Google Contacts list and brings data retrieveds to the computer monitor in a pop-up window. It is also possible to edit record of the available contact, to create new contact if number is not found and/or to save information on a call in notes.
To use a plug-in, it is necessary to download and set a service packet of 3CX CRM Integration module. When installing a packet, it is necessary to select a plug-in of Google Contacts and further to follow instructions.
