2018: Announcement of the program

On November 25, 2018 submitted to Siemens Healthiners the first in the portfolio software for a computer tomography using artificial intelligence. The product received the name AI-Rad Companion Chest CT. Using the KT-image of a thorax, the new software will be able to carry out differential analysis of different structures of this area, to highlight with their different colors and to estimate abnormal changes in lungs, heart, an aorta and coronary arteries. AI-Rad Companion Chest CT will automatically transform the results to the structured reports.

Thanks to fundamental algorithms which were prepared by scientific Siemens Healthineers according to large databases AI-Rad Companion Chest CT will allow radiologists to reduce time of inspection and filling of documentation. AI-Rad Companion Chest CT supports a set of tasks: automatic identification, localization, marking and assessment of small damages and also automatic quantitative evaluation of total amount of calcic deposits in coronary arteries.

Submitted to Siemens Healthiners the first AI software for a computer tomography

The cloud solution of AI-Rad Companion Chest CT uses the certified, safe infrastructure of teamplay. The software is easily integrated into the existing clinical workflows and conforms to all standards. Images and auxiliary information automatically come to the system of archiving and transfer of images and are available to all specialists.

One of the purposes of Siemens Healthiners company is in helping the medical organizations to overcome a problem of staff shortage and influx of patients. At the same time the company emphasizes that the artificial intelligence will not replace the specialist, it is only designed to facilitate accomplishment of routine tasks during image processing. Siemens Healthiners is going to develop a number of additional intellectual assistants for the AI-Rad Companion platform.[1]
