2020: Release of the program

At the end of May, 2020 GE Healthcare issued the AIR Recon DL AI program for improvement of quality of MRT-pictures. This technology increases diagnostic reliability thanks to higher quality of pictures without the accompanying increase in time of scanning.

Usually the best image quality is reached at the expense of higher signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and/or spatial resolution that requires long scanning. Shortening of time of scanning for increase in comfort of the patient and performance was led to picture-quality degradation and reliability of diagnostics. However AIR Recon DL solves these problems.

GE Healthcare issued the AI program for improvement of quality of MRT-pictures

Unlike traditional approaches of post-image processing which can shade separate parts AIR Recon DL is the AI mechanism of reconstruction with deep learning using all raw data for achievement of the maximum image quality. AIR Recon DL has unique technology of suppression of noise which saves at the same time fine details of the image.

AIR Recon DL was developed in cooperation with global institutes and estimated on the example of several thousand cases on different anatomic sections. Responses of clinical physicians were generally positive. Users noted that use of AIR Recon DL allows to truncate scanning duration, facilitates work of the doctors estimating pictures and reduces need of rescanning.

The Hospital of special surgery, the University of California to San Francisco, RadNet, the Wisconsin Madison University, the Oncological center of Doctor Anderson, Medical college of Wisconsin, the Center of cardiology du Nord in France, the Medical Center of Erasmus in the Netherlands, Centro Cardiologico Monzino in Italy, the Yamanasi University and the Keyo University in Japan and also the Medical center Asan and Haeundae Paik hospital in Korea became partners in development and clinical validation of AIR Recon DL.

AIR Recon DL was developed based on the analytical platform of GE Healthcare Edison which helps GE and strategic partners quickly to project, develop and distribute modern applications and algorithms of AI.[1]
