2020: Presentation of the APC Smart UPS Lithium-ion UPS of the SMTL series with a power of 700, 1000 and 1500 VA

On July 9, 2020 the Schneider Electric company provided compact rack models linearly - the interactive uninterruptible power supply units (UPSU) of APC Smart UPS Lithium-ion of the SMTL series with a power of 700, 1000 and 1500 VA.

Devices are held for use in spheres where high reliability and a progressive tense of operation of the equipment at breaks in power supply are required: on industrial enterprises of the average size, in telecommunications, in medical laboratories, when processing crucial business information. The main innovation applied in these devices is use of Li-ion (Li-Ion) accumulators instead of traditional for the UPS lead-acid.

In comparison with the traditional storage acid batteries (SAB) treat features of Li-Ion of accumulators: the compact sizes and smaller weight, up to 4 times the high speed of charging, twice bigger service life of the rechargeable battery (up to 10 years), an opportunity for work at a temperature up to +40 °C without significant deterioration in parameters. Thanks to it the total cost of housekeeping overheads falls by 35% in comparison with similar models with other type of accumulators. Application of Li-Ion of accumulators lies in line with a current trend of temperature increase in halls of data processing centers for economy of energy due to less intensive cooling.
