APC Symmetra MW

Product
Developers: APC by Schneider Electric
Last Release Date: 2016/03/14
Technology: UPS - Uninterruptible power supply units,  Data processing centers are technologies for DPC

Symmetra MW is a line of highly effective scalable uninterruptible power supply units. UPSes of this series are intended for regular power supply of large DPCs, medical institutions and responsible objects with increased requirements to performance and quality of power supply.

On March 14, 2016 Schneider Electric announced release of models with a power of 800 and 1000 kW as a part of Symmetra MW executed on modular failsafe technology.

Symmetra MW of 800 kW (2016)

Symmetra MW UPS properties:

  • modular construction,
  • high level of operational readiness,
  • scaling,
  • fault tolerance
  • low cost of ownership.

Among the main innovations of a line there is an increase in number of models with the built-in electronic bypass: it is included in the package of the Symmetra MW UPS with a power of 800 and 1000 kW. With its participation overload capacity of devices reaches 110% of rated current constantly.

With inclusion of an electronic bypass in structure of the UPSes built-in components their arrangement in the power module exchanged. In particular, I/O input-output section is located on the right now.

Firmwares for all Symmetra models of the MW series are updated - the energy saving Efficiency Booster Mode (EBM) mode especially useful to 2N-configurations appeared. It allows to disconnect automatically at small loads of the UPS sections with power modules, increasing thereby the level of load of remained. Thus, even at extremely small levels of loading, device efficiency with guarantee makes not less than 96%. Thanks to it operating expenses without any risk for responsible loadings are reduced.

The updated Symmetra MW UPSes completely meet all modern requirements for reliability, fault tolerance and efficiency. The new design with the built-in electronic bypass will allow users to reduce the space occupied by the equipment and, as a result, capital costs for 23%. Besides, thanks to reduction of external interblock connections and automatic machines also the cost of the solution was optimized.
