2020: Start of service
On July 9, 2020 announced Amazon start of AWS IoT SiteWise, service which allows to trace the equipment on all industrial facilities, revealing defects, breakdowns, failures in workflows. The new solution will be at first available to users of AWS in Virginia and Oregon (USA), Frankfurt and Ireland (Europe). Within the next several months the geography of providing innovation will be expanded.
Producers, the energy companies and the enterprises of the food industry often face problems of collecting, processing and data analysis from several hundred or even thousands of sensors of Internet of Things (IoT) Extraction of data can take a lot of time and often requires many financial resources as these data are, as a rule, stored on local specialized servers which have no general format of data.
Even in the presence of tools for data collection such information as equipment type, location of an object and its contact with other equipment, should be fixed manually. Users are forced to create proprietary applications for calculation and comparison of performance measures on all objects effectively to estimate reality.
The solution AWS IoT SiteWise is designed to automate processes by providing to users access to the software which functions in the gateway placed on destination objects. The platform simplifies process of collecting and streamlining of data from industrial equipment, sending information to the protected storage.
In particular, the used gateway safely is connected to local servers of data, collects information and redirects it to a cloud of AWS. Users of AWS IoT SiteWise also get access to user-friendly interfaces for data processing from modern industrial applications - through the protocol MQTT or API.[1]
